The Voyager spacecraft snapped this view of Jupiter's thin rings (gold bands at top left). The rings are so faint that they weren't discovered until the Voyager missions. The Sun was behind Jupiter in this image, so Jupiter's atmosphere is seen as thin bands of color. [NASA/JPL]
