Morning, Noon, and (Almost) Night [1]

The Curiosity rover shot a series of images of its location in Gale Crater on Mars in November, which NASA compiled into this 12-hour video. It spans 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. local Mars time. The rover was sitting still for a while because was Mars was behind the Sun as seen from Earth, so Curiosity was not in contact with Earth. [NASA/JPL]
