The beautiful spiral galaxy IC 342 swirls through the universe in this newly released image from Euclid, a new European space telescope designed to reveal new details about dark matter and dark energy. It viewed the galaxy in infrared wavelengths, which penetrate thick clouds of dust inside our home galaxy, the Milky Way. The galaxy spans roughly 35,000 light-years, which is a third the size of the Milky Way. It's about 11 million light-years away, in the northern constellation Camelopardalis, the giraffe.
